Mr. Backman concentrates his practice in land use & zoning, environmental, administrative and governmental law. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Backman spent 2 1/2 years working with Centerline Homes, a Florida residential homebuilder, as Director of Acquistions & Entitlements. In his role with Centerline, Mr. Backman applied his real estate / legal experience in conducting due diligence on future property acquistions, site planning and managing development consultants and project timelines. Before his time with Centerline, Mr. Backman spent five years with the law firm of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Shuster & Russel, where he was first introduced to the practice of land use & zoning law. Through vast experiences representing developers throughout South Florida, Mr. Backman is well-acquanted with all legal issues connected to land development and entitlements.
